Match Report

With Team 5 fully loaded and its auxiliary players back from various duties and rested from league hockey due to a blank the previous week all was to play for against Wednesbury 4ths’.

A well drilled and youthful Wednesbury initially put the wind up Team 5 and it was quite a shock to the system…..However with some great midfield play and non selfish passing saw Team 5 give as good as they got.

There was end to end short corners and going into the second half Team 5 was its own worst enemy as tempers started to fray and focus started to be lost…All knowing that end of season league positioning was all to play for. Mentions in dispatches (For the wrong reasons) go out to David Gardner for disgracing himself and thus being sent off with a yellow card for seeing “Red Mist” with 5 mins to go (I know he is truly sorry!)

However great performances as ever from Charles Nash, Andy Cooper, Mike Savage, Dilraj Samra and Steve Rowlands (All Outstanding)….”Mr England” Matthew Lewis has dried his goal spree up but that was not for the want of trying. A big chuck up went to “Mr Vice” Neil Ward who once again secured man of the match and thus took home the “Bubbles” (This is becoming quite a habit!!!)

With a 0-0 finish and Team 5 putting in a 99%  effort…..We will gladly take the point!!!!
