Old Wulfs 2 - 5 Stourport

Old Wulfs played their last game of summer league against Stourport at home. In the previous meeting between the two teams Stourport had won 8-1 and were good value for the result. This time round the score rather flattered Stourport.

The first have was fast paced and Stourport settled the quicker of the two teams. Stringing passes together and creating chances down their left flank, which is where the first goal game from. An overload on the left found Stourport players in space and after the initial save was made by Aaron in goal, the rebound fell kindly for Stourport who then scored. Old Wulfs reacted well and immediately broke down the right side got into the D and put a shot on goal. The keeper saved well and Ablard slotted the rebound away. Just before half time Stourport restored their lead after Old Wulfs lost shape. 2-1 at half time.

The second half Old Wulfs started better and through some hard work off Griff, Old Wulfs won and short corner, which Mark Scored from. After what was a rather impressive display from Old Wulfs, a mistake in the defence allowed Stourport to restore their lead again. mark attempted to dribble of the top of D, and away to safety, but gave the ball to a Stourport centre forward who then scored. 3-2. Stourports 4th and 5th followed quickly after  as Old Wulfs looked to respond to going behind. Despite the score it was a very even game and a host of chances were missed by Old Wulfs players and some outstanding saves from the Stourport 14 year old keeper.

5-2 final score

Ablard, Mark Wilson.
