After a series of tough matches, on 25th January the Badgers made the ominous trip up the road Cannock. The team was a mix of relative new-comers (Ben, Dan and Ryan), together with the more established core of the team (Kai, Sam, Callum, Karam and Tom) and the very enthusiastic senior players. The game started well with good shape and movement, defending strongly when needed, but Cannock pinched a goal and the half ended 1-0. Not being a situation which was new to the team, the Badgers came out positively for the second half and in a period of about 20 minutes Kai and Tom dominated the midfield, pushing right up the pitch, giving the attack of Callum, Sam and Karam plenty to work with, and putting Sam through for 3 well worked and impressive goals (1 in the top corner). Whether it be the shock or fatigue, the team went through a more difficult patch and while Ben and Ryan defended well on the right and left, Cannock were able to get 1 one back and finally equalised to leave the score level at full time. Kai was named man of the match by his team for his efforts in midfield. Excellent game, which felt like a win!
