|Date||19 October 2019|
|Opposition||Aldridge & Walsall 3|
|Venue||Wolverhampton Grammar School|
|Result||D 1 - 1|
Aldridge & Walsall 3rds were victims of late cry-offs and arrived with 9 players which should have given our 5ths a significant advantage. However, one of their 9 was an exceptional goalkeeper who - despite a lot of chances created - kept a clean sheet at half time. At the other end, a lack of concentration when defending a quickly taken free hit led us to concede a goal and go into half-time 0 - 1 down.
We continued to create chances in the second half, and their keeper continued to save them until eventually we passed the ball in the 'D' rather than having a direct shot and Joseph Mellis was on hand to score an equaliser.
Credit must go to our opponents outfield players who worked hard and were well organised in front of their keeper, and continued to attack despite their shortage in numbers - Steve Rowlands in our goal had to be on his toes on a couple of occasions to keep them out.
Not a great performance by 5ths - need to improve next week.
