|Result||W 6 - 3|
With Chase Park slipping up, Wulfs needed two wins to enter the final week of the season on top of the league.
The first challenge was Shrewsbury, in third place and on a roll of wins. Without Widdowson and Pritchard, Ben Hart stepped in and immediately showed an aptitude for the subtleties of indoor. The game was intense and high-paced, with Hemmings and Brown needing to be sharp to keep out the quick Shrewsbury attacks. Birch was on goal-scoring form once again, and helped us to a 2-2 scoreline, and another late goal sealed a crucial victory.
Walsall were another challenge, and took an early lead against the run of play. They doubled their advantage with a highly dubious goal - the final touch coming a fair distance outside the circle, everyone including the 'keeper left the ball, but much to the bemusement of both sides the umpire awarded a goal. Enter Birch and Griffiths, sharing the goals that pulled things back for Wulfs, and from there on in it was one-way traffic. 6-3 was the final score.
Wulfs have 3 games next Wednesday to finish the season, and winning all 3 will guarantee promotion, so come on along and support us if you can!
