Fifths started their visit to Droitwich with the now customary introductions, fitting players into the established playing formation. Droitwich started on the front foot with some quick forwards putting our more mature defence under some pressure. However we discovered some legs of our own and were able to respond and press the opposition defenders. Both sides created, and wasted, numerous chances to score during the game. From the ones that were converted we were more successful - scoring 6 to Droitwich's 3 - and came away with a very satisfying win from the first game after the break. It could easily have been a 7 - 7 draw, with Droitwich unlucky on a number of occasions. Ed Hole opened our scoring and created our 5th goal with a great example of practical geometry; Luke Archer completed our scoring with a little help from the Droitwich defence at a short corner; in between Robbie Thompson scored two short corner strikes and two in open play.
