Old Wulfs 7 - 9 Ludlow

After the disappointment of the previous game, Old Wulfs looked to rally knowing a win could still see them win the league, however they would need to at least equal North Staffs score line to stand a chance. Things did not start great for Old Wulfs a quick fire double from Ludlow saw a sluggish Old Wulfs 2 nil down. Birch pulled one back from a short corner putting the shot above the keeper’s head. Ryan pulled Old Wulfs level with a near post deflection from Ablards pass. Birch put Old Wulfs in front with a sweeping shot on the turn as Minty put a pass along the boards. Ludlow regained there composure and took a 4-3 lead into half time. Ludlow started brightly in the second half and went 6-3 ahead before Old Wulfs reacted. Birch got his third of the game with a cheeky reverse flick into the far corner 4-6. Ludlow immediately regained there two goal lead running through Old Wulfs from the push back 7-4. Birch narrowed the margin with another short corner 7-5. Ryan nutmeg the keeper and finished his hatrick when he tackled the opposition defender and slotted past the keeper. However Ludlow continued to score goals and Old Wulfs were running out of energy having already put so much into the first match. 9-7 the final score.
