With the return of the indoor league, a few changes have come into affect. The return of the 6th player will add a new dimension to the game again, but with the introduction of the new trapping rule will give defenders something else to think about. The games are now 20 minutes a half, making the use of subs even more important.
Chase Park 6 - 5 Old Wulfs
In the first game Old Wulfs lined up against a young Chase Park side, which walked away with a narrow undeserved and extremely fortuitous win. Indoor captain Birch was still ruled out through injury, but managed the team from the side and handed indoor experience to Gareth Mintern and Ben Humpherson in a new look indoor team.
The first half was a scrappy affair with neither side really controlling the game for long periods; however it was Tutton who put Old Wulfs in the lead with a back post deflection and this saw out the half. Mistakes in the second half allowed Chase Park to race into a 4-1 lead with their fans celebrating like they had already won the game. Chase Park was fortunate to have a keeper on the pitch as he flattened Ablard in the D, but nothing was given. However, Tutton got his second of the game and goals from Ward, Ablard and Griff saw a very close final few minutes, where Old Wulfs were extremely unfortunate not to have at least drawn level when a lifted ball in the Chase Park area was missed. A good start by the Old Wulfs team, but room to improve certainly. Final score Chase Park 6 Old Wulfs 5.
