This Saturdays fixture was always going to be a tricky affair as bouncing back from last weeks masterclass would prove harder than originally planned.
Yet again Litchfield travelled with legs and speed.
With a re-bolstered Team 5 raring to go and a handful of battlefield replacements eager to fill the breach Team 5 unleashed hell onto the opposition. It was end to end stuff with half time seeing no goals.
After regrouping with a “Dad” chat from Mr Vice (Neil Ward) and drivel from Captain Fantastic, Team 5 flew onto the pitch for the second half. Mentions go out to “Speedy” Simon Heron for keeping the width on the wing and running himself into the ground, “Bullet” Callum Nightingale again being in the right place and holding and delivering the ball at just the right time, “The Cat” Steve Rowlands for bouncing himself off the floor at every opportunity, “The Commish” Barry Sheldon who has returned to Team 5 duty with a positive flare.
The second half was probably the best hockey Team 5 has played to date, with passing being on point, communication up and down the pitch and keeping the will to win going for 70 minutes. Hats off to Litchfield for scoring 2 goals in the last 10 minutes. The score does not reflect the hockey that Team 5 pushed out his weekend.
Man of the match went out to Harjinder “The powerhouse”……just a fantastic performance that will surely be repeated next week.
Next Stone away….Look Out!!!!!
