Match Report Old Wulfs travelled to the Doug Ellis Sports Centre to face a Khalsa side who lost their last game 10-3 to Finchfield. Khalsa started with a few familiar faces in their line up, meaning Old Wulfs would have a competitive game on their hands.

Old Wulfs were quick to settle passing the ball nicely and within 3 minutes were 1-0 up through Will Ashworth. However Khalsa piled the pressure on and quickly turned their fortunes around taking advantage of some sloppy defending making the score 2-1 to Khalsa. A break in play for a bit of hand bags gave Old Wulfs the chance to calm themselves. 2 more goals from Ash and a short corner strike from Dave Ward. 3-2 at half time.

The second half for the first 15 minutes of play were disjointed with both teams giving up possession easily. Another break this time for a suspected hamstring injury to Griff settled Old Wulfs and allowed them to get 4th goal to put the game to bed. Ash finished of a period of sustained Old Wulfs pressure with a bottom corner strike. Khalsa had a period of short corners which Colin handled comfortably, so comfortably he felt the need to give Khalsa 7 attempts before Ward cleared the danger.

Final Score 4-2 to Old Wulfs. A good win over all. In all of this I hear you ask what of Dave Cartwright? How did the infamous defender and goal scorer play. Well truth be told Dave got his days mixed up and he will be playing on Wednesday evening at the Doug Ellis Sport Centre... Alone.

Man of the match is a joint award to both Ash for his goals and great work rate and Ricky for have a great game at left back and dealing with a tricky centre forward.
