Push back started promptly at 7:30, but none of the Old Wulfs players turned up mentally until 5 minutes from the end of the first half. The only positive note of the half was Griff stepping in front of his man taking on the defender and finishing calmly with a reverse stick strike into the bottom corner, however Old Wulfs 5-1 down at half time.
Stray passes, lack of concentration, no supporting runs, weak passing, the list went on, the Captains team talk was a polite one, but the message was clear we have to turn up now and compete. Win the second half no excuses!
Finchfield rarely threatened second half with Old Wulfs dominant in possession, Ablard and Litch pulling the strings in midfield and Ben and Wardy marshalling the defence. Ash started an unlikely come back with a neat finish into the far corner, after some good build up play to make the score 5-2, and Mark put his drag flick top corner to reduce the score line to 5-3
Game finished 6-3, to a Finchfield side who worked hard for one another with their youngsters playing extremely well and they never game anything up. Old Wulfs need to reflect on a performance that they cannot afford to display next season. Away to West Brom Stags next week where a good performance is a must.
